REPORT ON THE INCEPTION MEETING FOR THE RULE OF LAW AND ANTI-CORRUPTION (ROLAC) PROJECT

Introduction

On 29th of October, 2024, the Director of the Justice Development and Peace Centre (JDPC), Benin, participated in the inception meeting for the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC) project. The meeting was held under the theme “Civil Society Advocacy to Strengthen Anti-Corruption Reforms in Nigeria” (CASARN). This initiative marks a significant collaboration among Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) aimed at enhancing accountability and transparency in governance.

Objectives of the Meeting

The primary objectives of the inception meeting were to:

  1. Establish Collaborative Frameworks: Create partnerships between CSOs and MDAs to foster dialogue and cooperation on anti-corruption initiatives.
  2. Develop a Road Map: Outline actionable steps for the CASARN project, ensuring a structured approach to advocacy efforts.
  3. Engage Government Stakeholders: Facilitate discussions with government representatives to reinforce the importance of accountability and anti-corruption reforms.

Conclusion

The inception meeting for the RoLAC project marked a significant step towards strengthening anti-corruption reforms in Nigeria.
