JDPC Benin, with support from Women Aid Collective (WACOL), successfully held Capacity Strengthening Workshop II for Christian Women and Women Leaders of Culture in Ogbe and Useh Communities.

The workshop focused on equipping women with the knowledge and skills needed to tackle gender-based violence (GBV) and promote safer communities. Participants engaged in insightful sessions on understanding GBV its forms, causes, impact and the vital role they can play as advocates of change.
Key discussions also highlighted important legal frameworks such as the VAPP Law, Child Rights Act, CEDAW, and the Maputo Protocol, reinforcing that everyone has a responsibility to speak up and act against GBV.
Participants were further trained on effective communication and advocacy skills, empowering them to confidently raise awareness, support survivors, and report cases through appropriate channels.
At the end of the workshop, the women reaffirmed their commitment to becoming strong voices against GBV in their communities.
Together, we can build a society free from violence.
