SILENT PROSTITUTION IN SOUTHERN NIGERIA
This article examines the phenomenon of ‘silent prostitution’ — a form of covert transactional sex increasingly prevalent in Southern Nigeria, particularly in Edo, Delta, and Anambra States. Unlike formalised commercial sex work, silent prostitution operates under the social cover of romantic relationships, friendship networks, university environments, and digital platforms, making it structurally invisible and profoundly dangerous.
